INCORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF THE CITY OF GILLETTE, CROOK COUNTY, WYOMING. FROM COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS OF JANUARY 6th, 1892.

The application to incorporate the town of Gillette to be known as the City of Gillette was read, and on motion, the application was granted and the following order issued for said Incorporation.

WHEREAS: An application of Hunter Bowen, et al., as required by law has been presented to this Board of County Commissioners asking for the incorporation of the town of Gillette under the name of the City of Gillette including the territory described in said petition and as platted and filed with said petition, and

WHEREAS: After considering said petition and all proofs and evidence in support thereof and also all objections thereto we find that all the requirements of the laws of Wyoming in regard to general incorporations of towns have been fully complied with by said applicants.

Therefore it is hereby ordered that the territory as set forth in said application and petition described as follows: Beginning at the ¼ Sec. corner on north line of section 27, Tp. 50, R. 72 west, thence due south 1320 feet, thence west 3960 feet, thence north 3960 feet, thence east 3960 feet, thence south 2640 feet to place of beginning, containing 360 acres be and the same is hereby declared to be known as the City of Gillette, as set forth in said petition, with all powers and privileges granted to cities and towns by the laws of Wyoming and we hereby fix the first Monday in February, 1892 as the time for holding the first election in said city of Gillette, and Jacob Kaufman, Elmer Miller and Raymon Gutgazelle are appointed inspectors to hold said election.
