When you see this sign it means your tax dollars are at work.  The money generated by the 1% sales tax is used by the City of Gillette, Campbell County and the Town of Wright.  The public votes on the 1% sales tax every fours years and several months prior to the election, the Campbell County Chamber of Commerce distributes a survey that asks the public to determine the projects the public have set as priorities.

The City of Gillette uses its share of the 1% sales tax for the capital construction of roads, water and sewer lines and electrical services, as well as infrastructure, such as drainage improvements and the waste water treatment facility. 
Campbell County utilizes the 1% sales tax for youth and senior citizen programs, county roads, emergency & safety equipment and social service agencies.  The Town of Wright uses its share of the 1% sales tax for capital construction, infrastructure and operations.

2012 1% Projects
Beaver Drive Extension - This project is to provide for a northern/western outlet to the Sage Valley Subdivision. It was undertaken due to the Boxelder Road Extension, Phase 2 Project, which will need to close a portion of the existing road in front of the Campbell County Detention Center in order to relocate the road. Phase 2 is scheduled for late summer (2012) or early of spring (2013) pending budget approval. Staff projects the need for this road to handle a portion of the 3800 vehicles per day that use Boxelder Road presently.

Country Club Road Improvements - The Country Club Road Improvements (08EN04) Project includes the complete reconstruction of the rural section of Country Club Road, just east of Mitchell Avenue to 450 feet east of Butler Spaeth Road, to an urban street section that will include curb and gutter, pathway on the north side of the roadway and sidewalk on the south side of the roadway. The road functional classification is minor collector. The section of the road that is east of 7 Bar 7
Lane to the intersection of Butler Spaeth will be cut approximately 10' to provide for a safer intersection. This project includes the addition of 1780 lineal feet of 10" water line, 1080 lineal feet of storm sewer, and street lighting.

Boxelder Road Extension Phase 1 - The work associated with this bid includes earthwork, storm drainage, and water and sanitary sewer utility installation along the Boxelder Road Extension right-of-way from Burma Avenue to the west edge of the Campbell County Detention Center. The project will also provide the earthwork for the 69 KV line extension along the Boxelder Road alignment from Burma Avenue to the Boxelder Road Substation. The bid package included an
additive alternate for the earthwork from Burma Avenue to Highway 50.

Dalbey Park East Entrance - This project (11EN34) will consist of the extension of Pintail Drive to its intersection with the Dalbey Park loop road. Work in this project includes concrete curb and gutter, asphaltic concrete paving, concrete planter, lighting, and utility relocations.

Enzi Drive/Southern Drive Traffic Signal - The project will consist of the installation of a traffic control signal with a protected pedestrian crosswalk phase, and advanced warning devices along Southern Drive. The City of Gillette has pre-purchased the signal poles, mast arms, and electronics for the contractor to install.  The project will also include the completion of approximately 50 feet (50') of the concrete walking path along the west side of Enzi Drive, completing the pedestrian connection to the path on the south side of Southern Drive and Remington Estates. The City received $100,000 in county wide consensus funding to help fund the project.

2011 Sanitary Sewer Replacement - This project will consist of the installation of approximately 1750 LF of 8" PVC Sanitary Sewer, 25 LF of 10" PVC Sanitary Sewer, and 375 LF of 8" Sanitary Sewer Pipe Bursting.

2012 Alley Pavement Management - The Alley PMS - 2012 (11EN44) is a total surface replacement with Portland Concrete Cement (PCC) and 8" PVC waterline replacement of the alley between 11th Street and 12th Street from Dalbey Avenue to 4J Road including water services to the homes, and a total surface replacement with Portland Concrete Cement (PCC) of the alley
between Gillette Avenue and Warren Avenue from 2nd Street to 3rd Street, including replacing most of the concrete island separating the alley from the parking lot west of the alley.

2012 Pavement Management Schedule A - The PMS 2012 Schedule A Project (11EN40) consists of miscellaneous concrete repairs, pavement repairs, storm drainage, and asphalt paving on portions of Westover Road, Overdale Drive and Clarion Drive.

2012 Pavement Management Schedule B - This project (11EN41) will consist of the following installation: 1200 LF of new 8" water main in West 8th Street from 4J Road to Stocktrail Avenue and in Rohan Avenue between West 6th Street and West 8th Street, installation of 800 LF of new 36" storm sewer in Rohan Avenue from West 8th Street to West 6th Street, and rehabilitation of pavement, curb and gutter, and sidewalk on 8th Street from 4J Road to Stocktrail Avenue and
Rohan Avenue from West 9th Street to West 6th Street.

2012 Pavement Management Schedule C - The PMS 2012 Schedule C Project consists of miscellaneous concrete and asphalt repairs on Laurel Drive from the west end of Laurel to South Gillette Avenue, Mesa Drive from Stetson Drive to Cimarron Drive, and Stetson Drive from Monte Vista Lane to Cimarron Drive. Also included is the replacement of the metallic fittings on the water lines throughout the project area, sanitary sewer repairs, and storm drain repairs.

2012 Pavement Management Schedule D - This project (11EN62) will consist of the rehabilitation of selected streets in the Moon Meadows and Fox Park Subdivisions. Work included in this project consists of the portions of the PMS 2011 Schedule A project which were removed from the contract. Streets included are:
Blue Avenue - Sinclair Street to Harvest Moon Drive (850 LF)
Lunar Avenue - Sinclair Street to Harvest Moon Drive (850 LF)
Sinclair Street - Blue Avenue to Lunar Avenue (100 LF)
Hunter Drive - Blue Avenue to Lunar Avenue (600 LF)
Harvest Moon Drive - Blue Avenue to Lunar Avenue (550 LF)
Cheryl Avenue - Gordon Street to Milton Street (1,400 LF)
Kristin Avenue - Gordon Street to Milton Street (1,400 LF)

Zone 2 Water Transmission Improvements - This project consists of providing temporary distribution for a (3) three million gallon steel water storage tank (Z3- R1 Westover Tank) that will be taken down for painting. This work includes acquiring and installing (4) four 50,000 gallon pillow tanks, installing temporary pumps, yard piping and connection to existing yard piping to provide
appropriate flow and pressure to the existing Southwest Pressure Zone Pump Station to run at its current conditions.

Water Tank Rehabilitation (Z3-R1) - This project consists of providing temporary distribution for a (3) three million gallon steel water storage tank (Z3- R1 Westover Tank) that will be taken down for painting. This work includes acquiring and installing (4) four 50,000 gallon pillow tanks, installing temporary pumps, yard piping and connection to existing yard piping to provide
appropriate flow and pressure to the existing Southwest Pressure Zone Pump Station to run at its current conditions.
