City of Gillette Launches Notification Program

Get the City information you want, how you want

The City of Gillette is launching a new notification program to deliver City news and information to our residents in the format they choose. We will be using the Everbridge notification system to deliver relevant (non-emergency*) information via phone, email, text, and/or Everbridge App (available from the Apple Store and Google Play). There are a number of subscriptions from which to choose:

Here are the subscriptions to choose from. Choose as many (or as few) as you would like. The subscription list is subject to change.

  • Animal Shelter Information
  • City Council Meetings
  • City News (Press Releases)
  • City Office Closures
  • City Pool Information (Pool closures)
  • Crime Stoppers
  • Road Closures
  • Snow Emergencies
  • Trash, Recycling, Curbside Yard Waste Notices
  • Utility Outages

There a couple of ways to sign up for the program. You can access the member portal from the City website or from the Everbridge App.

Signing up through the Member Portal

  1. Click here to access the Member Portal
  2. Click Sign Up at the bottom of the page.
  3. Fill out the required fields.
  4. Accept the Terms of Use.
  5. Choose how you would like to be contacted.
    1. You can select as many (or as few) of the notification choices as you would like. (Email is required).
    2. In order to receive information via the Everbridge app, you will need to download it from Google Play or Apple App store.
    3. Adding a Primary Phone number means you will receive a phone call with a text-to-voice reading of the message.
  6. Click "Save & Continue"
  7. Select the subscriptions for the information you would like to receive.
    1. To receive all of the notifications, select the check box next to "Notifications".
    2. Be sure to check back too see if new Subscriptions are available.
    3. If you click "Skip this", you will not receive any notifications from this service.
  8. Click "Save & Continue"
  9. Review the information you have entered. You can change your information and selections by clicking the "Edit" links at the top of each column.
  10. Click "Finish"

Signing up through the Everbridge smartphone app

  1. Download the Everbridge app on your smartphone by going to Google Play or Apple App store.
  2. Once installed, open the app and select "Find an organization or subscription".
  3. Type one of these three options:
    1. Gillette
    2. 82716
    3. 82718
  4. Select "City of Gillette, WY" from the list of organizations.
  5. Fill out the required information.
  6. Choose how you would like to be contacted.
    1. You can select as many (or as few) of the notification choices as you would like. (Email is required).

  7. Click "Save & Continue"

* This notification program will not be used for emergency notifications. That is handled by the Campbell County Emergency Management Agency. They have their own notification system for informing the public of potential and imminent emergencies. The National Weather Service in Rapid City, South Dakota is a good source for weather-related information for our area.
