City of Gillette Finance Department Earns Highest Achievement

Certificate of Achievement of Excellence in Financial Reporting from the GFAO

The City of Gillette Finance Department has earned the Certificate of Achievement of Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association. This is the seventh year in a row and 20th time overall that the City's Finance Department has been recognized by the GFAO. According to the GFAO, "the Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management." This award goes to less than 20% of the GFAO membership.

"There are only three communities in the State of Wyoming that consistently receive this award and Gillette is one of those," said City Administrator Patrick Davidson. "What that means is staff is diligent. We very much appreciate the work that Finance does to maintain these standards."
