Municipal Court to Offer Payment Extension 

The Municipal Court of Gillette, WY, at the order of Judge R. Douglas Dumbrill, is offering a 45-day extension to any person currently on a payment plan, or ordered to pay-in-full, who may need an extension during this time that Municipal Court is not in session. However, you must contact Municipal Court at (307) 686-5254 to make these arrangements. If you reach our voicemail, please leave your name and telephone number and the reason you are calling.  All messages with a name and number will be answered and returned. 

Order Rescheduling Court Appearances

BY ORDER OF THE MUNICIPAL COURT all Court Arraignments for April 14, 2020; April 21, 2020; and, April 28, 2020 are hereby tentatively rescheduled to JUNE 2, 2020 at 8:30 a.m.

FURTHER, if you are appearing for a Court Trial as a defendant or a witness, please contact the Court 307-686-5254 to receive a new court date.

FURTHER, if you are paying a citation or making a payment, you may either:

  • Send a check, cashier's check, or money order to Municipal Court, PO Box 3003, Gillette, WY 82717.
  • Pay cash using the Drop Box on the front of the City Hall building (mark envelope "Municipal Court" and provide the defendant's name).
  • Call 307-686-5254 to pay over the phone using a VISA or MasterCard.

FURTHER, if you contact the Court via telephone and no one can answer, you must leave a message with your name, telephone number, and a brief message, and keep trying to contact the Court.

About Municipal Court

Judge Doug Dumbrill presides over Municipal Court, with Chris Ringer serving as prosecutor. They are appointed by City Council in January of each year. 

Arraignments (1st appearances) are set for Tuesday at 8:30 a.m., and trials are scheduled by the Court for Thursday beginning at 8:30 a.m. Municipal Court handles only citations involving violations of City ordinances. Bench warrants for contempt, non-payment of fines, and non-appearances are also displayed on the City website and GPA Channel 192.
