The City of Gillette announces the following road and lane closures:
Gurley Avenue - Extension
This project is now in winter shutdown due to cold, wet weather. A temporary surface has been applied to Gurley Avenue from north of Kluver Road to the City limits to allow through traffic to resume. A 20 mph speed limit has been posted. The reason for this is for road reconstruction as part of the 2019 Pavement Management Schedule B Project funded by Penny Power.
Significant construction activities will continue on Highway 50 from Lakeway Road to Southern Drive through November 2019 and from May 2020 through June 2020. During this timeframe, traffic control devices and flaggers will facilitate 1-way traffic in both directions. Expect delays. The traveling public is encouraged to use alternate routes when possible. Truck traffic is strongly encouraged to use alternate routes.
Gillette Avenue and Highway 14/16
Gillette Avenue will be closed from 7th Street to 1st Street for the 2019 A.B.A.T.E. Toy Parade. This will include the intersection of Highway 14/16.
3rd Street Plaza
The 3rd Street Plaza (located between Gillette Avenue and Kendrick Avenue) will closed on the following dates:
Downtown Holiday Ice Festival - December 7th from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. requested by Gillette Main Street.
